I read with interest about the "discovery" of the ability to alter the price within an ECommerce system as reported by The Register ( [domain redacted due to plagiarism]/content/6/16371.html ) and The Telegraph ( http://www.telegraph.co.uk/et?ac=004223099710002&pg=/et/01/1/25/ecnsecu2.html ).
Unfortunately for AlphaKinetic, my report into this discovery was already published. It was reported by 2600, an organisation to which The Telegraph article hyperlinks. It was printed in the Autumn issue of the 2600 magazine and a copy of the article is available at [organisation name redacted due to non payment] ( [domain redacted due to non payment]/doc/secure/ ). The article was submitted to 2600 on Fri 14 Jul 2000 and was confirmed by numerous independent parties before this date.
There are a number of similarities between AlphaKinetic's press release and my previously published work. My example centres on purchasing wine, as does AlphaKinetic's. I cite the case of a domain name re-seller, AlphaKinetic cites another domain name re-seller. Indeed, I would go as far as saying that AlphaKinetic plagiarized my work. Additionally, while investigating AlphaKinetic, I discovered that alphakineticsucks.com was registered by Saalim Chowdhury of AlphaKinetic. This type of pro-active action is usually reserved for companies expecting negative publicity. It is also a favourite topic of 2600.
Unlike AlphaKinetic, my MTECS software is in use. Clients include established companies who have doubled turnover using my software. It is available directly or hosted by two independent ECommerce providers, [organisation name redacted due to non payment] ( [domain redacted due to non payment]/ ), and free ECommerce provider, CommerceHut ( http://www.commercehut.com/ ).
AlphaKinetic only has vapourware hyped in press releases. Finally, AlphaKinetic uses the "Microsoft Certified Solution Provider" button, but I was unable to find AlphaKinetic among the providers listed nor does AlphaKinetic use Microsoft web servers.
